Paradigm X

I close my eyes, and breathe deeply of the sweet scent of fresh rain and turned earth. I feel the tranquility in this place, and know that I will one day be here forever, and it further calms me. Where and what to place as my headstone…

Dispensing with the Word Games

One of the most dishonest, misleading, and infuriating things in the world to me is when people play word games. There is no arena where this is more abused than in what we are forced to accept as the "public discourse".

I'm so sick of hearing these disingenuous little phrases that make you have to stop and think about the phrase itself in order to understand what is being discussed, and from what perspective. You know the phrases I mean. Little things like "pro-life" instead of "anti-abortion".

I'm sick of the social engineering aspect of these things, and the inherent dishonesty in the attempt to soften the reality of what is being discussed. Even worse are the words or phrases that, rather than soften and mislead, flat out attack the non subscriber, or on the reverse, attempt to legitimize something by giving it special exception to normally hard and fast rules.

Alright, so what am I talking about? I'm talking about having the damn moral clarity, and courage to speak plainly, without hiding behind PC(read BS) language and sugary phrases.

If you're pro-abortion, friggin say so! Don't play this pathetic "pro-choice" game. And the same goes for the exact opposite. You're not fucking "pro-life", you're anti-abortion. have the courage to OWN your belief, whatever side you're on, and drop this pathetic attempt to legitimize your view through the PHRASE you use, rather than the substance of the basis for your opinion.

Another word that pisses me off: homophobia. This is one of those ridiculous, slimy attempts to delegitimize someone who has had the common sense to NOTICE that two guys going at it isn't NORMAL. If that's your thing, FINE, but again, have the courage to own the reality. My having the intelligence to realize that it is a tiny minority of people who engage in this aberrant sexual behavior doesn't make me "phobic", like I am afflicted with some mental illness, it makes me normal, and it's an aversion, not a phobia. Hence from this point forward, I will use the word homoaverse, which makes a hell of a lot more sense, and is infinitely more honest.

And while we're on the "homo" words, lets address the OTHER use of this prefix that attempts to make it something other than what it is. You're a homophiliac, not a homosexual. Philia, as in abnormal attraction to. Yes, you're abnormal by the pure definition of the word. NOT normal, so what, be a man(or woman, or whatever else falls into this mix) and just own up to it. No one calls a child rapist a "pedasexual", or someone who has sex with dead bodies a "necrosexual", use the correct terminology, and stop trying to hide behind a word.

I'm so sick of these silly word games that I wish I could filter my TV and other sources of media like I can my email. Just skip over anything with certain words or catch phrases and let me live in peace, in a world where people actually say what they mean, using words that actually describe what they are talking about..

Questioning the Wisdom...

True to the name of the blog, I often see things from a different place than most. Every once in a while I'll be throwing in a little insight into the world I live in. Here's one that struck me in a conversation recently.

Conventional Wisdom:
The enemy of my enemy, is my friend.
A New Paradigm:
The enemy of my enemy is my ally.
The enemy of my enemy is my pawn.
The enemy of my enemy is my very likely in competition with me.

Comment Welcome.

Thank you.

Thank you, brother.
Thank you for giving everything up for me.
Thank you for leaving your wife and children and going to fight for me and mine
Thank you for going bravely into the darkness, with your head held high and your brothers by your side, to fight for my freedom
Thank you for your bravery in combat, and your moral clarity in the face of those who hate what you do, and cannot understand the dedication you show in doing it.
Thank you for the love you show with every determined step into hell, every burden that you grunt and endure, and every hurt you carry for us.
Thank you for loving this country so much that you will leave her to make sure that our enemies cannot gain ground on her.
Thank you for being my brother, my hero, and my friend.

Thank you, all you Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors and Marines. Heroes, every one.
